The day when Chewbacca came to the Tama Zoo

Today, September 4th, is the anniversary of my coming to Japan.
As you know, I came to the Tama zoo with my three friends 22 years ago.

The zoo had already announced to the public that I came here in 1986,
and they also told us the date, September 4th,
on the Respect-for-Senior-Citizens Day last year.

Today you can see how I moved in the morning for the first time in a long while.

The orange ball

I went to the orange ball at 9:45, but I didn't feel like playing with it very much.
　　　　　

　　　　　

I soon went to my spot under the roof and slept for ten minutes or so.
Some visitors who saw me at the time might think that I was fast asleep.

As soon as I heard the keeper's footsteps,
I was exceited and began to play with the orange ball

Good morning, Keeper!

Today's keeper is a woman.

Good morning! I'm Chewbacca.

No answer.....

Would you turn your face toward me?

Wow, she finally looked at me!

I was so busy!

The wallaby trespassed on my pen even in the early morning.
Since the keeper moved in the wallaroos' pen, I began to chase her,
and yet I played with the ball toy when I found it on the way.

I suddenly realized that it wasn't time to play with the ball,
and then I chased the keeper again.

　

　

　

I found the ball toy again and played with it.

　

　

　

　　

　

Oh, I almost forgot to look for the keeper.
