Chewbacca at the beginning of September


It was nearly 30C this day even though the peak of the heat wave passed.
It was about three thirty that Chewbacca finally started to move.
He was sleeping under the reed screen for a long time.

Why didn't he sleep in the burrow (or tunnel) that he dug?

What happened to Chewbacca's burrow that he dug
at the end of August?



Unfortunately the burrow collapsed because of rain.
The burrow he dug changed to only a hole because the part of the roof fell down.
Poor Chewbacca!

Chewbacca's confession

To tell the truth, I was scolded by the keeper today.
Would you like to know what I did?
When the keeper was going to unlock the door, I leaped on him.
Actually I leaped on the metal gate, not the keeper.

I was so excited to see a stranger (perhaps a new keeper)
who trained a camera on me that I felt myself compelled to jump.......

And I was scolded by my keeper.
He almost patted me on the head.
I got excited again, and I dug and dug and dug.

(Chewbacca often digs when he is excited or angry.)

Then jumped up!

（He jumped three times. It seems that Chewbacca didin't aim for the keeper's elbow but just jumped up.）


Landing


He went home yawning as if nothing had happened
after being so excited himself for a moment.
