According to Oriental Zodiac (animal symbols), year 2007 is the "Year of the Boar".

It's me, Chewbacca.
This year is the Year of the Boar.

You know the visitors sometimes take me, a wombat, for a boar.
I wonder if I take after the boar that much?

Well, I'll express my wishes this year.
I mean I would like to write a blog.

A new plaything

Today's top story is "a new plaything" definitely.
A funny-sized thing appeared in my pen.

I wonder if the keeper hit upon the idea of making such a thing for me?
What is the round thing like a bowling ball?
It has "ears" which are somewhat like my ears.
The crisscross part is made of the bamboo.



　


I thought as if I played a tug of war with the bowling ball like that.
　

　


Though I tried to pull the rope back again and again,
the bowling ball tumbled down the sloping ground in the opposite direction.
Why sloping?
Because I dug and dug around the glass wall.





　

I bit and pulled the rope for about forty minutes from three o'clock,
and I was worn out.




　　　

Mudpack?!
Mud was covering my face since I pressed my face against the watery ground.
　

　

　

I sometimes tugged the rope with all my might.
　

30 minutes later I bit off one rope! I've won?!
　

In pursuit of my stump
around 13:45

I went to the river to move the stump that I let drop.
I soon gave up since I couldn't move it easily and also the water was cold.
The stump got much smaller, and I want a new big one....

　

On the stage
The visitors were glad that I posed for them on the stage as usual.
They said again and again that Chewbacca was so lovely.



　

On the bed
The visitors said that Chewbacca was so cute even when he was sleeping.
Am I that cute?

However....., they laughed at me and said,"Chewbacca is sleeping baring his teeth."

I took a nap without holding the log.

I was exhausted after playing a lot.
around 15:50　

After I had a little sleep, I heard the keeper's footsteps. I got restless.
around 16:00

I went home about four ten this day.

Some people came to see me in a hurry at the exact moment I went home,
and I turned round and showed my face. They looked happy.

The keeper kept the door open for a short time, and I tried to come out.
However, he soon closed the door.
