Let's give the wombat a toy　-1-

October 7th (the first time)

It is said that some events will be held in the Tama Zoo this month.
One of them is giving the wombat a toy.
It will be held on every Tuesday in October unless it rains.

The wombat!? That means they'll give me a toy, doesn't it?
I won't say I prefer a sweet potato to a toy.

Today was the first event, and it began at two thirty in the afternoon.
Can you guess what kind of a toy I got, and how I reacted to it?

Still sleepy


I was waking up.

I don't know that they'll give me a toy yet.

I went to the door since I thought I heard the keeper's footsteps.
I bumped into the wallaroo.
　　

I thought that I heard the keeper's footsteps around here....

I went back to the stage and posed.
14:25

The crowd was growing.
Since I didn't know about the event, I posed on the stage with ease.
　



　



I yawned.
The visitors are always delighted when I yawn. I don't know why, though

The ball toy!

14:30
The keeper came in the wallaroos' pen and approached the fence
which divides my pen from the wallaroos'.
I hurried to the fence, and then the ball toy leaped into my pen.

Though I was curious about the keeper at first, I couldn't ignore the ball toy.
I wondered why it "leaped" from the fence today?
You know it used to be in my pen.


Anyway, I vigorously bit and chewed the cloth which was attached to the pole.
I attacked it so wildly that the visitors and my keeper were surprised and worried about me.

I thought I had to guard my kingdom against an intruder,
and so I attacked the ball toy with all my might.
I have a strong sense of responsibility!







Since I found the keeper, I got excited and dug the ground.
　

I went toward the ball toy.
I moved it little by little, biting it vigorously.
　

The glass is dirty. The spots on the glass is the soil that I dug.
　

　

I moved the ball toy over to the oak tree.


　

　

　

　

　

As I got tired, I lay down.
However, I kept playing with it without sleeping.

Though I moved the ball toy behind the roof, I soon moved it back to the tree.


　

　








I stopped playing with the ball toy and went to my bed.
15:30

I took a nap for ten minutes or so.

Though I went for a walk, I came back here in a minute.

I kept still for a while, showing my backside.
　　　

Played again

I played with the ball toy for twenty minutes or so, moving it from place to place.

I moved the ball toy with my nose.
　

You can see I moved it here and there.
　

　

　
　
　　

The keeper opened the door at 16:10, however, I didn't enter the room.
I didn't feel like going back home yet.
I might be too excited today.

I went toward the door since I heard the keeper's footsteps.

The door opened.....

My Keeper, do I have to go home now?

Sorry, I don't want to go home now.....

I decided not to go home.

I wonder if the keeper would be upset?

I don't care. I hurried to the ball toy.

Hi, Ball Toy, I came back to you.

The stage or the bed?

I stopped playing with the ball toy, and went onto the bed.

I took a nap.
　

After I slept for a couple of minutes, I played with the log a bit.
　

　

　

As I was tired, I lay down, holding my log.
I opened and closed my eyes for a while.

I got up and played with the log.
　

My Keeper, I'd like to go home now......



It's 16:50, but the door hasn't opened yet.
Poor Chewbacca!?
No. I'm to blame.
You remember?
I didn't enter the room when the keeper had opened the door at 16:00.
